Thing Two's band is playing the above music plus others from suspenseful military movies in concert later this month, accompanied by clips compiled by a trombonist who is also an aspiring filmmaker.
So here's the thing: it's not you guys; it's me.
Does it sound like I've broken up with Xanga? Not really. I'm just sick of the way I write. I can only stand myself in short bursts, which means...Facebook. I realized that much of what I write here is negative. My Facebook updates are as well, but at least they're short.
However, I have been horribly remiss in visiting your sites. I will try to do better. I must warn you, though, that if a post bends toward the political, I will not usually comment. I have had it with the mudslinging on both sides and refuse to get into even a civil debate on valid issues.
I intend to write in Ben and Jerry in November.
We haven't heard much from Thing One since his crush turned him down for a date. Bless his little heart. But he gave his first math lecture last week at his junior seminar class.
The renovation has slowed to a crawl. I've been sick with a flu-like virus for a week, and Hubs has been forced to stop building cabinets in order to sand doors and walls, which is really my job. But the little powder room should be finished by Sunday afternoon! Pictures when it's done. This is the one John Pinnet could not visit. Don't know John Pinnet? I'll go get a video and come back. Wait right there.
If Thing One has nothing better to do with his time, I'll be speaking at the Frist Center on Friday afternoon.
RYC - really? Do you think it's possible to have too much coffee? :)
I've never found your posts particularly negative. I've found them interesting though. I like the style you write in.(with?)
I hope you're feeling better now, and if I had to sand cabinets I would have the flu as well. If you're ever looking for more connections, t.helpme@gmail.com on facebook.
facebook?! me too!! friend me please (patti carter tucker)
I'm facebooking too. And I'm in a funk and don't want to infect others.
@doahsdeer - I noticed you'd be on campus when I visited your site to peruse the add-on story. I'd love to tell him, but I can't get him to talk to me. He is avoiding our calls AND Facebook messages, even those that promise money. Hopefully he's just busy. I remember my mom worrying about me when I'd forget to call from college. We'll be in NYC in Nov. for a professional development meeting and will take Thing One and his suitemates to dinner one night. Thing Two will be HomeAlone for four days...yikes.
I need to catch up on your site and your latest book.
@kirby1960 - I think the funk is on most folks these days...
I thought (USA) funk was something to do with Disco but it seems to be used as for depression here? Or I've heard it used in a 'immobilised by fear' sense also in the UK, though it was more used in the mid 20th century than now. Seems like there's a general Xanga drift to Facebook! Did I tell you before that you can put your xanga blogs (and others) on facebook by using the green 'Share' icon below a post? I find that quite useful. I play Scrabble on Facebook most days.
I have missed you! I keep wondering if I just miss you posts, but apparently there were none to miss. I miss the story and the updates in general.
I would write more but my MIL just got here because she is going to watch my kids while I go to OKC for the day to be with a friend whose brother is on trial for a very bad thing.
Miss you - hey, I'm on facebook - I don't know how to find you, but you know my name - be my friend!
i admit that i also check facebook much more often. it's a quick way of keeping in touch, seeing photos, etc. but there is no substitute for my xanga when i feel the urge to actually write....
feel free to friend me on facebook. message me if you need my name.
